
About Kyuwon
A journalist and ethnographer, Kyuwon is currently working for Solutions Journalism Network as a Training & Curriculum Manager. He received an MA degree in Media, Culture, Communication at New York University where he researched about transnational media economy of Hallyu in Latin America.
Previously, he worked for Asan Institute for Policy Studies as a research assistant, interviewing 26 North Korean defectors who were formerly incarcerated in North Korea's prisons. He also worked for Dong-A Ilbo, a Seoul-based newspaper. He is a former Airforce Sergeant of the Republic of Korea Air Force.
In 2016, he co-founded a mobile-based news publication, Issue & Paper which aimed to make the findings of academic papers more accessible and social-friendly.
He loves hiking, drinking pale ale, watching the English Premier League, and writing Google Review.
